We know attendance is important, but how does it relate to academics?

Research has proven that there is a high correlation between school attendance and academic performance and success. Absences from school are often the greatest single cause of poor performance and achievement. Lessons build upon each other each day in the classroom. When your child is absent, they are missing out on important learning that will set them up for success in future lessons.
